Ratchet blocks are indespensible for reducing the force required to hold a highly loaded line.
I always use one in my blokart® and DN iceboat mainsheet systems.
I've used all three of the ratchet blocks listed below for a number of years.
Both the Viadana 14.10, Nautos 92710, and Nautos HT 2260 57mm ratchets work great on the blokart®.
The difference is the Viadana uses a slotted sheave while both Nautos blocks have a faceted sheave.
Both designs work well on the typical blokart® mainsheet diameters.
The Nautos 92609 75mm ratchet is perfect for the higher sheet loads found on the DN.
I've had one on my boat for the past few years and it hasn't given me any trouble.
